Ranger Solo Smite Farm
Hello. I'm Lunchbox October, I'm new to these forums here, and I'm Canadian so I apologize ahead of time for the gratuitous use of the word 'eh'. So, okay eh let's roll.
Game Plan
Expertise:.................11+3+1
Wilderness Survival:.....6
Restoration Magic:......12
[skill]Generous Was Tsungrai[/skill][skill]Vengeful Was Khanhei[/skill][skill]Lightning Reflexes[/skill][skill]Whirling Defense[/skill][skill]Dwarven Stability[/skill][skill]Storm Chaser[/skill][skill]Great Dwarf Armor[/skill][skill]"I Am Unstoppable"[/skill]
Equiptment
A Spear / Sword / Axe of Shelter & a +30 -5 (20%) shield
Alem's Remedy
Armor
Full Stalwarts Insignia's
Vigor Rune of choice
Expertise Mask with Superior Expertise Rune
Wilderness Survival Mask with Superior W.S. Rune (for running)
How it works.
The beginning..
Run and take Clearing the Chamber quest, and run back to the centre. Cast Great Dwarf Armor, hit Storm Chaser, and engage the Grasping Darkness and pull them away from the Aatxes. Now comes the fun part, hit Lightning Reflexes, cast Generous Was Tsungrai, and just before L.R. runs out cast Vengeful Was Khanhei. When VWK has ended hit Whirling Defence, which lasts about 20 seconds, let it run the full duration. Cast GWT immediately and hold his ashes for Whiling's duration (remember it only takes 20 seconds for VWK to recharge, so if your health is getting low you can hit VWK and then Storm Chaser to cancel the blocking stance). When whirling is almost gone cast VWK again. Repeat this process for the other two mobs.
note: Take one mob at a time. Two is very taxing on your energy. Switching to Alem's Remedy when low on energy is important, and it is highly recommended you use it to cast GWT afterwards to hide your energy.
The run.
It's a cake walk. Equip your Shield, weapon of shelter, and switch to your wilderness mask. Cast Dwarven Stability, and then Storm Chaser. Don't worry, it will not run out on you before it's recharged. Run through the arches and into the Ice Wastes.
The Smites
Alright, few basic rules.
1. Always Maintain Great Dwarf Armor
2. Storm Chaser and VWK work hand in hand, use them both at the same time.
3. ONLY use "I am Unstoppable" when you are under whirling defence or if your Great Dwarf Armor was stripped.
It's the same pattern with the Grasping Darknesses, VWK -> Lightning Reflexes + GWT -> VWK -> Whirling Defence + GWT + I am Unstoppable. Lather, rinse, and repeat.
Two mobs can be done at the same time.
Coldfires
They are a pain, you can't kill them, but you sure as hell can take a beating from them and walk away from it.
Thanks
Would just like to give a hats off to whomever created the W/Rt build, and to guildmates who went on this fools crusade through EotN just to see if it could work.

Aggro, wait 3 seconds after they use all distractings and then cast VwK. Don't use Generous with graspings.

I start off by using Lightning Reflex so they waste their distracting blows, and don't build adrenaline for Skull Crack. I'll admit when I first started they had the uncanny ability to get past my 75% blocking. It's important to remember that VWK and Lightning Reflexes / Whirling don't work together. I suggest the use of Generous, strictly speaking under a blocking stance if causes them to waste their disruption skills and it hides your energy from their "Fear Me".
*edit - couple typos.
